8 Days

Day 1

Arrive on Morning flight and drive West through the scenic Great Rift Valley and arrive at L Nakuru Lodge in time for Lunch ( 169kms). Enjoy a late afternoon Game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park ( 188 square kms) with a good chance of seeing the rare Southern White Rhino and an abundance of bird life. L Nakuru is home to over 320 Bird Specie. The park is also home to the rare and almost extinct Rothschild Giraffe. Lake Nakuru is a soda lake having 3 major inlets but no outlet. It has been host to over 2 million lesser flamingos that flock periodically to feast on the spirulina ( Blue -Green Algae). Dinner and overnight at the Lake Nakuru Lodge

Day 2

Early Breakfast and depart for Kitale ( kms250). We arrive in time for lunch at the Kitale club. After lunch we depart for Kenyas smallest Park, Saiwa swamp National Park (3square kms). Saiwa is famed as the host of the very shy and rare Aquatic Antelope called the Sitatunga. It is also home to the rare De Brazza,Blue monkey and Colobus Monkeys. For bird watchers one can be lucky to spot the expert mimic bird called Grey winged Robin that mimics other bird songs to the tee. There is also a chance to spot the Rose Turaco, Luders bush shrike and Blue headed Coucal among others You will have the services of Western Kenyas most sought after Guide Japhet Mwouk who knows the area like the back of his hand and also an expert Orinthologist. We then head back to the Club for Dinner and overnight.

Day 3

After an early Breakfast, we depart for Mt Elgon (4321 mts ) and Mt Elgon National park( 30kms) and visit the caves that Elephants and Buffalo have made over time. They converge at the caves to lick the soil that is full of salt and minerals. By doing this, they have tunneled up to 200mts under the mountain making the caves a prefered habitat for millions of bats. The floor of the caves are covered in fine sand that is partly excrement from the bats. We also do a drive in the enchanting forest.. We are back at the club in time for lunch. We leave after lunch for a leisurely drive to the Cherengani Escarpment to enjoy the magnificent views and later return to the club for a hot shower followed by dinner and overnight.

Day 4

After an early departure we head South (100kms) to the only remaining Tropical forest in Kenya.Kakamega Forest( 233square Kms). Enjoy a Nature walk in the Forest with the local expert guides and later have our picnic boxes at a chosen picnic site. We later continue South – East (40kms) to Africas largest Lake and the worlds 3rd biggest fresh water lake. L Victoria. (68800kmsq). We arrive at Kiboko Bay lodge in the late afternoon. After checking in, the rest of the evening is spent at leisure. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

Day 5

Depart before sunrise with a picnic breakfast and sail out on L Victoria to catch the breath taking sunrise and also to watch the night fishermen coming to the shore to sell their fish to the local fishmongers. This is an important part of the daily lives of the local Luo tribe. You are back at the lodge in the mid morning to relax before lunch. The afternoon is spent at leisure but one can opt for a tour to Kit Mikayi ( crying stone) that is said to be the origin of the Luo tribe that President Obama has roots.

Day 6

An early departure for Masai Mara ( 280kms) arriving for a late lunch at our chosen camp. After lunch enjoy a late afternoon Game drive in the Game rich Mara returning in the late evening. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 7

Option of a once in a life time Balloon Safari followed by a charming Champagne Breakfast served out on the open Savana or an early morning Game drive returning to the lodge for Breakfast. Lunch is at the camp followed by a late afternoon Game drive.

Day 8

Depart after breakfast and drive back to Nairobi ( 260Kms) for lunch and later depart for your chosen destination.
