Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Jomo Kenyatta International Airport

Arrive at the Jomo Kenyatta Airport, pickup followed by a short briefing and then transfer to Tamarind Tree Hotel for overnight.

Day 2: Tsavo East National Park

After breakfast drive to Tsavo East National Park arriving Ashnil Aruba in time for lunch. Embark for an afternoon game drive until dusk. The park is considered one of the world's biodiversity strongholds, and its popularity is mostly due to the vast numbers of mammals. Dinner and overnight at Aruba.

Day 3: Tsavo East National Park – Amboseli National Park

Depart after an early breakfast, visit Mudanda Rock with a game drive en route to Tsavo west arriving at Kilaguni Safari camp for an early lunch. Afterwards visit Mzima Springs and Shetani Lava and later proceed to Kilima Safari Camp for a late check in. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 4: Amboseli National Park

Depart after breakfast with picnic lunch and visit various properties for inspection while enjoying a game drive in Amboseli National Park. Amboseli is famous for its scenery with a backdrop of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro “Africa’s highest mountain” which is situated across the border in Tanzania with amazing photographic scenery and spectacular landscape. It is home to huge herds of Elephants among other wild animals. Dinner and overnight at the camp

Day 5: Amboseli – Aberdare National Park

Depart after breakfast carrying your picnic lunch and drive back to the Aberdares Country Club where you will be transferred to the Ark. Built to resemble the Noah’s Ark it floats amid the forests of the Aberdare National Park. This is a magical corner, where there is close contact with the essence that tells of an unexplored Africa and where very often, the visitor may enjoy in solitary the beauty of it all. It has a water hole at its base that animals come to drink after licking the soil around the Ark which is full of minerals. Dinner and Breakfast at the lodge.

Day 6: Samburu National Reserve

Depart and drive north crossing the equator from the Southern to the Northern hemisphere to Samburu Game Reserve (320kms), visit Simba Lodge for and inspection and proceed to Ashnil Samburu Camp for lunch. After a short rest, depart for an afternoon game viewing where you will also do an inspection at Surana Buffalo Springs camp and return to the camp before sunset.

Samburu is a name of Masai origin ‘Samburr’ a traditional leather bag for carrying honey and milk. The region is characterized by vast, open landscapes, dried riverbeds (depending on the season of the year), and red volcanic soil. Rock outcroppings contrast against the dense woodland vegetation along the banks of Ewaso Nyiro meaning ‘River of brown water’, the river that gives life to the reserve.

The area is home to the famous Samburu people related who are close relatives to the Masai people. Both have retained their age-old cultural traditions.

Day 7: Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Depart after breakfast and drive to Sweetwaters arriving for lunch. Have a short game drive after lunch en route to Maisha Sweetwaters Camp for inspection. Ol pejeta is famous for its brave fight against poaching of wildlife and its continued efforts at conservation. Sweetwaters is at the fore front in protection and rehabilitation of the increasingly endangered Rhino population. One of the best places to come close to Rhino in the world. All meals at the Camp.

Day 8: Lake Nakuru Lodge

After Breakfast, depart and drive to Lake Nakuru, stopping at the 75meter Thomson’s falls, then proceed to Lake Nakuru Lodge arriving in time for lunch after which you will spend the afternoon at leisure, dinner and overnight at lodge.

Day 9: Lake Naivasha

After Breakfast, depart with a morning game drive, On the floor of the Great Rift Valley, surrounded by wooded and bushy grassland, lies the beautiful Lake Nakuru National Park. You will enjoy the wide ecological diversity and varied habitats that range from Lake Nakuru itself to the surrounding escarpment. It is ideal for bird watching, hiking, picnic and game drives. It also offers sanctuary to huge numbers of native African animals including Rothschild giraffes and endangered black rhinos. Later on drive to Lake Naivasha Sopa arriving for lunch. Later proceed to Lake Naivasha Simba Lodge and then Lake Naivasha Country Club for inspection. Dinner and Overnight at the resort.

Day 10: Maasai Mara National Reserve

After Breakfast, you can opt to enjoy a much recommended 1hr boat ride on Lake Naivasha coming close to big groups of Hippo and also a walk at Crescent Island each at an extra cost of 35usd per person. Lake Naivasha is our highest fresh water lake in Kenya at 1900mts above sea level. After the boat ride, you will continue driving south towards Maasai Mara having your lunch box on the way. After crossing the gate, you will drive to Mara Simba Lodge and Mara Leisure Camp for inspection, have a short game drive en route to Mara Fig Tree Camp for late check in, dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 11: Maasai Mara National Reserve

Depart with a picnic breakfast to experience the magnificent sunrise of the savannah, also one can opt for a much recommended and very popular Hot Air balloon Safari experience that is followed by a full breakfast served on the open savannah accompanied by a bottle of Champagne at an extra cost of 450usd. Visit Ashnil Mara Camp and Keekorok Lodge for an inspection tour.

Later on drive back to the camp for lunch. After a short rest, depart for a late evening game drive where you will hunt for big game to be shot only through your camera lenses. Always looking out for the elusive “Big Five” i.e. Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, and the extremely rare and shy Black rhino and Leopard. Mara is also home to over 350 species of birds. It is also the home of the famed Masai people, a unique and popular tribe due to their long-preserved culture. Despite education, civilization and western cultural influences, the Maasai people have clung to their traditional way of life, making them a symbol of Kenyan culture. Optional visit at an extra cost of 20usd to a Masai village reveals the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals.

A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 12: Nairobi

Depart after breakfast with picnic lunch to Nairobi (250kms.) and later you will be transferred to the Airport for your onward flights.
