Day 1: Jomo Kenyatta International Airport – Four Points by Sheraton

Arrive at the Jomo Kenyatta Airport, pickup followed by a short briefing and then transfer to Four Points By Sheraton for overnight.

Day 2: Samburu National Reserve

After breakfast, drive north crossing the equator from the Southern to the Northern hemisphere to Samburu Game Reserve (320kms) and arrive at the camp in time for lunch before you depart for an afternoon game viewing and return back to the camp before sunset. Dinner and overnight at Ashnil Samburu Camp. 

Samburu is a name of Masai origin ‘Samburr’ being a traditional leather bag for carrying honey and milk. The region is characterized by vast, open landscapes, dried riverbeds (depending on the season of the year) and red volcanic soil. Rock outcroppings contrast against the dense woodland vegetation along the banks of Ewaso Nyiro meaning ‘River of brown water’, the river that gives life to the reserve.

The area is home to the famous Samburu people related who close relatives to the Masai people. Both have retained their age old cultural traditions.

Dinner and overnight at the Ashnil Samburu Camp. 

 

Day 3: Samburu Game Reserve

Day spent searching for the Samburu five and observing the vast unspoiled scenery during morning and afternoon game drives.

Samburu is renowned for its rare species of fauna known as the ‘Samburu five’. These five particular animals are usually only found north of the equator – the long-necked gerenuk, the reticulated giraffe which is characterized by its liver-colored geometric patches defined by narrow white lines, the Grevy’s zebra which is bigger than the common zebra and looks more like a horse, the beisa oryx with black horizontal stripe running across its lower flank and the Somali ostrich males which have blue-grey necks and thighs.

Day 4: Aberdare’s National Park

After breakfast depart and drive to the fertile Central Highlands to the Ark stopping at a coffee processing Cooperative and arriving at the Aberdare Country Club for lunch and later transfer to the Ark (17kms). The Ark is a famous Tree hotel that has a water hole at its base. The soil around the Ark is full of minerals that the animals come to lick and later enjoy the water. All rooms have a superb view down to the water hole. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 5: Lake Nakuru National Park

Depart after Breakfast and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in time for lunch and later enjoy an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge. 

Day 6: Masai Mara National Reserve 

After Breakfast, depart for an early morning game drive and later on drive towards Maasai Mara having your lunch box on the way. You will arrive at Mara Fig Tree Camp in the late afternoon. Dinner and Overnight at the Camp.

Day 7: Masai Mara National Reserve 

Day spent in the reserve with options to choose from such as early morning and late afternoon game drive or full day game drive, Mara is probably the best gaming destination in the world having been recognized as the 8th Wonder of the world. 

Also one can opt for a much recommended and very popular Hot Air balloon Safari experience that is followed by a full breakfast served on the open savannah accompanied by a bottle of Champagne at an extra. All meals at the camp.

Day 8: Lake Naivasha

Enjoy an early Breakfast, thereafter proceed to Naivasha arriving at Lake Naivasha for a 1hr boat ride then proceed to Lake Naivasha Sopa arriving in time for lunch and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight at the resort.

Day 9: Amboseli National Park

After breakfast, drive to Amboseli national park. You will arrive in time for lunch at Kilima Safari Camp Amboseli Check in at the camp. Have a short rest before proceeding for an afternoon game drive until dusk. Amboseli is famous for its scenery with a backdrop of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro and spectacular landscape. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Amboseli National Park

Day is spent in the Park with options to choose from such as early morning and late afternoon game drive or full day game drive. Amboseli offers spectacular views of Africa’s highest mountain; Mount Kilimanjaro, which is situated across the border in Tanzania with amazing photographic scenery, which is made more exotic with the animals moving on the ground. It is home Elephants, Cheetahs, Lions, Leopards, Bat Eared Fox, zebra, Giraffe, different types of antelopes among other wild animals.

Return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Nairobi

Depart after breakfast to Nairobi. You will visit Karen Blixen’s Museum and later proceed to Karen Blixen Coffee Garden for lunch. Later you will be transferred to the Airport for your onward flights.
